Product brief
What the Product brief is for, how to correct it, and why it does not rescan your site.
What is in the Product brief?#
Your geo scope, a one-liner and category, hero copy with H1, subheading and CTAs, promo and pricing tactics, features, ICP signals, trust spine and tone of voice. Everything else is built from it.
What is the Product brief for? Is it scoring or reviewing my site?#
It is not a review of your site. Its only job is to collect the basics about your product quickly so you are not typing them in from scratch, and it is meant to be corrected by hand. The evaluation of your site happens later, in the site audit on the Website optimization page, which runs against your live site and gives you findings to act on.
Can I make the Product brief rescan the site, or scan my site again?#
While your project is still on the Product brief stage, before you press Continue to Audience, Re-run product brief re-reads your site and rebuilds the brief from scratch, using one of your three brief re-runs, and its Your product link field takes a corrected address. After that stage there is no rescan for the Product brief and no way to make it scan the site again. It is starting data rather than an analysis, so anything wrong, thin or missing is faster to fix with the Edit button on the document than by another scan. After onboarding, saving an edit stores your text and a banner appears with an Apply now button: press it and the update runs straight away, otherwise the change goes in on its own tonight at midnight in your timezone. Either way the application costs 30 credits.
If the brief was built from a page we read badly, correct it with Edit as above. If it was built from the wrong page, the pencil next to the link at the top of the Product brief page changes the link, free and once per billing period, and that change resets the project.
Will the site be re-analysed if I change my brief?#
No. Editing the brief regenerates the documents built from it, but the site itself is not scanned again. The site audit and action plan have their own rerun, on the Website optimization page, which reads your page again. The SEO page under Growth Audit has its own re-run and rechecks.
How do I change the geo scope in my Product brief?#
Geo scope is a field inside the Product brief. Open the brief and click the geo scope value to change it.
The Product brief got details about my app wrong, for example the pricing is missing or it says I have no Android or web version.#
Correct it in the brief with the Edit button. On App Store and Google Play listings the fields that come back wrong most often are pricing, the screenshots and which platforms you are on, which is why the onboarding step asks you to check the brief before you continue.
If you correct it after onboarding, saving stores your text and the documents built from the brief regenerate once the change is applied: press Apply now in the banner and that runs straight away, otherwise it happens on its own tonight at midnight in your timezone. Either way the application costs 30 credits. Anything already generated keeps the old details. If a correction is still missing a day later, tell us in this chat rather than editing it again.
