Deleting your account and data
How to delete your account, what it cancels, and how long we keep data.
How do I delete my account? I do not see a spot within the app to delete my account.#
There is no delete button inside the app today, so nothing is hidden from you. Ask us here, or email support@heycatch.ai, and we delete the account and everything in your workspace for you.
Do it in this order.
- Cancel the subscription first. Deleting the account does not stop billing, so a live subscription would keep renewing.
- Then ask for the deletion, and tell us which address the account is on if it is not the one you are writing from.
Deletion is permanent. The project, your documents and audits, your catches, posts and videos go with it, and so do any credits you bought and have not spent. The deletion is completed within 30 days of your request.
Does deleting my account cancel my subscription?#
No. Deleting the account and cancelling the subscription are two separate things, so cancel the subscription first. Otherwise it keeps renewing and you are still billed for an account you no longer use.
Can you delete my data?#
Yes, on request. Email support@heycatch.ai or ask in this chat.
Without a request, your account and everything in your workspace stays: the project, your documents and audits, your posts and videos are kept until you ask us to delete them.
Three things work differently. The public social content shown in your catches is kept for 30 days. Access to your connected social accounts is deleted no later than 30 days after your subscription ends. The end-user analytics your SDK collects about your own visitors is deleted or irreversibly anonymised automatically 2 months after your subscription ends, unless you reactivate before then or ask us to delete it sooner.
How long do you keep my data after I cancel?#
Your account and your workspace content are kept until you ask us to delete them. That covers the project, your documents and audits, posts, videos and tasks. The public social content shown in catches is kept for 30 days, and access to your connected social accounts is deleted no later than 30 days after the subscription ends.
The end-user analytics collected by the SDK about your visitors is not kept indefinitely either. It is deleted or irreversibly anonymised automatically 2 months after your subscription ends, unless you reactivate inside that window or ask us to delete it sooner.
Deletion on request goes to support@heycatch.ai and is completed within 30 days of the request; database backups are kept for about 7 days. The DPA and the sub-processor list are published on our site.
